Life in Jalalabad - Life in Jalalabad for Afghan women and girls has improved since the fall of the Taliban. The women have more freedom to be employed outside the home and the girls are able to attend school. "Life in Jalalabad can be a real challenge though. There are the constraints of hot summers, unpredictable electricity and the male dominated culture. Still, being able to help disabled Afghan people makes it all worthwhile", a quote from one of our internationals, working in Jalalabad. There are not many places to go for outings, so one is mostly either at work or at home.

Kabul lies at an altitude of 1800 m above sea level (6000ft).
