Principal Donors

Serve Afghanistan’s funding comes from a combination of private agency donations, government co-funding, trusts, foundations, charities and concerned individuals. Its accounts and books are audited annually by an external chartered accountant.

The majority of funds Serve receives from donor agencies is for projects. Most expatriate workers are ‘self supported’, i.e. their living expenses are covered, for example, by donations from friends and family. Donations to Serve’s general fund are used for important non-project expenses such as ‘membercare’ (debriefings/visits by professional support personnel) which make it possible for Serve expatriate personnel to live long-term in Afghanistan. If you’d like to donate you can find details of how to do so here.
