My name is Noora (name changed), living in Mohammad Yasin village of Kushke- Robate Sangi, Herat Province. We are 9 members in our family. Originally, we are from Badghis Province and we migrated to Herat. My husband was killed in a car accident 16 years ago. My husband was a daily wage labourer. We are a very poor family, without any proper income. Sometimes our neighbours used to help us. My eldest son is working as a daily wage labourer to support our family.
We lost our house in the earthquake; it was completely destroyed and now we are living in a tent. We were able to salvage some of our clothes from debris, but the rest of our household items are still buried in the rubbles.
I am very grateful to your organisation that I am among the 465 beneficiaries receiving cash assistance of 12,500 Afghani (170$). This will help us for atleast 2 months. With this support we will be able to sustain ourselves in the initial stage.
